So-Cal Speed shop is a true story of some friends who love hot rods and bonded together. Alex Xydias joined the Air Force in 1942 and became a B-17 engineer then when he got out in 1946 borrowed some cash to open So-Cal Speed shop on Olive Avenue in Burbank California. Which struggled to make ends meat for a couple of years while paying everything in the business off finally they So CAl Speed Shop moved to another location on South Victory Avenue and began to take off when it started building fast hot rods that could reach up to 136 mph's then later in the 50's they could get card up to the low 200's and even had a huge promotion when Mechanix Illustrated magazine voted So-Cal Speed shop and the number one racing team in America.

To this day So-Cal speed shop stays the course in fast hot rods and customizing anything that comes their way and has earned the right to the elite title that has been given to them and everything is history from there.
