Von Dutch pinstriping is the seemingly

The artist Kenneth Howard
was known as Von Dutch, and in the '50s, he began the innocent
activity of playing around with lines. Working on the previously
untested theory that pinstriped lines need not remain parallel
to one another, he created varied, complex (yet line-based)
designs on bikes and hot rods.
The pioneering spirit of Von
Dutch pinstriping was something of an underground phenomenon
at the time. Today, however, Von
Dutch pinstriping has gong in a very different direction. The
Von Dutch company today creates cutting-edge fashion designs
on hats, shirts and jeans, drawing inspiration from the great
Kenneth Howard.

The Von Dutch line of clothing
