Jesse James: Master Bike Builder
Jesse James master bike builder motorcycles have become a widely
respected and sought after topic in today’s pop culture. A
huge majority of it’s popularity can be accredited
to master bike builder Jesse James. Since the debut of his show on
The Discovery Channel, Jesse James of Long Beach, California, has
become a common name in most households and everybody wants a look
at what he comes up with next. James has built custom bikes for such
stars as Shaq, Keanu
Reeves, and Kid
Rock just to name a few. He
is currently working on a bike for James Hetfield from Metallica.
Jesse’s
hard and tough exterior and attitude plays well with his viewers,
both men and women alike.
So, we know we like this guy. But where
did all of this start? How did Jesse James become such an icon? Well
after a bit of research, I discovered that Jesse actually stumbled
upon his future when he was just under sixteen. He got his first
bike then, a Harley. From that point on Jesse rode just about anything
he could get his hands on. He loved to ride. He became so passionate
about riding and his bikes that it created a strain on his relationship
with his father and he moved out on his own. Jesse graduated high
school and went on to college. Instead of taking classes like design
and architecture, Jesse studied psychology for two years.
Jesse got
a job with Perry Sands of Performance Machine with the help of his
father after traveling the globe. This is where he designed his first
bike. After a couple years, Jesse went to work for Boyd Coddington
of Hot Rods by Boyd. He was finally able to get creative and design
some custom pieces. From there, West Coast Choppers emerged into
what it is today. Jesse has created some of the most amazing designs
and his talent promises more to come. In the meantime we can catch
Jesse on his Discovery Channel hit Monster
Garage and he will also
be one of the master builders on the Great Biker Build-Off. Jesse
will compete along with fellow builders like Arlen Ness and son Cory,
Chica out of Huntington Beach, and Russell Mitchell of Sun Valley.
These California boys are just a few of the creators of some awesome
custom cycles.
We can be sure to see more graphic paint jobs, long
stretched handlebars, crazy exhaust and of course the all too famous
Choppers Cross logo will adorn his true masterpieces. So we can't
all afford to ride in style, at least we can dream.
