Who is West Coast Choppers?
Founded by Jesse James in 1992 West Coast Choppers now has over
50 employees. Looking back at its humble beginnings in a friend’s
garage, it is now a powerhouse in the custom bike world.
Jesse James is a diverse and talented man. At a very young age Jesse
was exposed to the world of motorcycles. First with his mini bike
at age 7. And through his fathers business in his early teens. After
excelling in sports in high school he went on to the University of
California Riverside. A knee injury kept him from continuing his
athletic pursuits. He then trained to become a professional bodyguard
and worked for many "A" list bands including Soundgarden
and Danzig and traveled the world with them. While touring he met
his former wife with whom he shares a 5-year-old son, Jesse Jr.,
and a 7-year-old daughter, Chandler. After deciding to leave the
bodyguard business, Jesse went to work for Boyd Coddington {of American
Hotrod fame} world renowned hot rod builder. After learning everything
he could he struck out on his own.
Jesse James began West Coast Choppers with no loan and no partners,
and built it painstakingly from the ground up as he does all his
projects. The headquarters of West Coast Choppers in Long Beach California
is an 18,000 sq. ft. facility and is quickly being outgrown. His
bikes sell for $60,000 to $150,000. They include some truly unique
and awesome designs like the Goldberg El Diablo rigid and Undertaker
El Diablo 113” S&S built for the stars of WWE. Not to mention
the Copper Chopper 6” up Dominator, the first and only handmade
all copper bike, the AOL Bike DiabloII rigid, The Coors Dominator,
and the National Tattoo El Diablo Softail. West Coast Choppers uses
great suppliers like JMDRacing, Mac Tools, Viper Grafix, Bill Wall
Leathers, Jegs High Performance, Rockford Fosgate, Chopper Dave’s,
Jesse James Wheels, and Iannotta Racing. With the success of his
Discovery Channel series the demand for WCC merchandise is overwhelming.
His huge fan base can enjoy some high quality gear available from
Frisco Tees. Jesse’s success also includes his custom cars
and many wild creations on Monster Garage, but it seems his successes
go a lot farther when they include the other aspects of his life.
